The artisans at Jessica Wickham’s holiday Work:Shop event generously donated goods and services to a raffle that raised $1,085 to benefit the Beacon Arts and Education Foundation. Community support is what makes our vital programs come to life.
One wonderful program that Rombout Middle School participated in this school year was the The "I'm Tired" Project based out of the United Kingdom. Since its inception in July 2015, The “I’m Tired” Project has effectively initiated a social debate around daily prejudices faced by people from all walks of life.
We are so thankful for local artist Donna Mikkelsen, who brought this program to the school and for Principal Brian Soltish, for being so open to facilitating it. And a very special thanks to all of you, our donors! It is because of you and your generosity that we were able to say 'yes' to funding! https://theimtiredproject.com/
We have also seen the continuation of the Common Ground Mural project which facilitates visits to the farm, and students are able to draw in their sketchbooks as they learn. They then take their ideas and collaborate on a mural for the halls of their elementary schools.
And we are beginning our meetings for our annual fundraising for the Calico Ball! For a small donation businesses can support this amazing experience for our 3rd graders in it’s 28th year! We are so excited to see the joy brought to the kids by the musicians and dancers of the Vanaver Caravan with the help of our community for another year.
